Mission Statement
“Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we worship God as a spiritually alive church, welcoming all and reaching out with love as Christ’s disciples.”
Vision Statement –
“Millburn Church UCC is committed to spreading God’s love to all members of the community. We actively invite and welcome people in all stages of their Christian journeys. We accept and embrace all kinds of diversity and value the unique perspectives, thoughts and experiences of each individual. We challenge ourselves to reach out as an integral part of our Christian life. We strive for worship experiences that are dynamic and engaging for all. United as disciples of Jesus, Christ, growing in relationship with God and seeking justice both locally and throughout the world, we set the following vision path for Millburn Congregational UCC.”
What is perhaps most appealing and exciting about our beloved Millburn Congregational United Church of Christ is that it brings together a rich history and untold promise for the future. Millburn Church recently completed a major building project to provide more space for our vibrant Christian education programs. But we did not build something entirely new; instead, we built on Great Traditions. Preparing for the dedication of our new structure, we uncovered our church’s charter document, which dates back to 1840! So, Millburn Church has its roots in the earliest history of Lake County, and it has proclaimed Jesus’ liberating message throughout most of the history of the United States. Now, the same church that once offered God’s protective care to runaway slaves on the Underground Railroad reaches out in new ways, offering spiritual home and community to the residents of bustling northern Lake County – natives and newcomers alike.

Our Pastor: Miranda Moeller
Pastor Miranda arrived at Millburn in November of 2020. Born in Illinois and raised in the St. Louis area, Miranda spent the past 10 years in Connecticut before reconnecting with her Midwestern roots. She is a graduate of Drury University, with a BA in Philosophy and Religion, a BA in Psychology, and minors in Women’s Studies, Global Studies, and Political Science. She has two Master’s: a MA in Pastoral Studies from Eden Theological Seminary and a MA in Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School. Before serving here, at Millburn, Miranda worked as a youth minister, a Director of Christian Education, and a part-time librarian. Moving back to the Midwest has allowed Miranda to spend more time with several family members that live in the Chicago area. Read more…
