- Open and Affirming (ONA) is an official designation for churches in the United Church of Christ (UCC) or other denominations that practice the full inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community.
- ONA churches welcome all people, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
- It is an official designation given by the UCC Open & Affirming Coalition to congregations whose members engage in serious study of sexual orientation and gender identity.
- Millburn Congregational United Church of Christ has always been welcoming of the LGBTQIA+ community but is pursuing the Open and Affirming designation to and publicly declare their full welcome to everyone.
- The official designation is expected to be complete in August of 2024.
