Pastor Miranda

Pastor Miranda arrived at Millburn in November of 2020. Born in Illinois and raised in the St. Louis area, Miranda spent the past 10 years in Connecticut before reconnecting with her Midwestern roots. She is a graduate of Drury University, with a BA in Philosophy and Religion, a BA in Psychology, and minors in Women’s Studies, Global Studies, and Political Science. She has two Master’s: a MA in Pastoral Studies from Eden Theological Seminary and a MA in Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School. Before serving here, at Millburn, Miranda worked as a youth minister, a Director of Christian Education, and a part-time librarian. Moving back to the Midwest has allowed Miranda to spend more time with several family members that live in the Chicago area.

Pastor Miranda imagines church as a safe landing place in the midst of a chaotic and messy world. She feels strongly that church is one of the last places where people of all ages, experiences, and backgrounds can come together to imagine a better world and worship a loving God. She has a special interest in intergenerational opportunities, as well as education and awareness around intimate partner violence.

When she isn’t at church, Pastor Miranda enjoys crafting of any type, painting by number with her cousin, and being creative. She and her wife Courtney have two dogs and a cat they enjoy cuddling and spoiling. But Pastor Miranda’s favorite pastime is spending time with her wife, Courtney, talking, laughing, and adventuring through life together.

Take Good Care,

Pastor Miranda
